Correct Amount of Pages?

This page is simply about how many pages or layout do you need for your website? Weather you put everything on 1 page or you have 7 different pages I will help you breakdown how to go about it. on this page.

Landing Pages

Landing Pages are specifically great for a small quick digest with small amount of information. You want to have:

  • Who are you? - Bio

  • What are you about?

  • What are you offering? - Services overview

  • How can I contact you? - Email, Phone, Social Media

With these points these can help you with creating a good landing page. You want to have your landing page be 1 page at most. if you have other content that you may want to include you can link out to that or use a lightbox pop up for that simple detail. If you can be effective in your use of a landing page then it can be a great way to have simple small piece of representing yourself online.

If you create 1 super long website then it wont help users find your website be effective in what it represents for your business. If you have more content than just 1 page worth of content then you wouldn't want to use a landing page for your business.

Website (3 - 5 Pages)

Websites that contain 3 to 5 pages are ideal for being able to present a medium presence online.

You most likely would like to have pages such as

  • Home page

  • Content page (this could be a service page)

  • Gallery (sometimes photos are good to show)

  • Blog (good if your a writer and SEO content for google)

  • About (describe what your business about)

It's always good to look at other examples of websites for your niche so doing a bit of research is good. Not everyone has to write blog for there website but if you do get into doing a blog for your site it can greatly help you rank with Google and there rankings for SEO (search engine optimization).

You want to as a business professional present enough about your business that when someone comes to your website you can present a great amount of information that it helps people understand enough about what your website is about.

Fundamentals

For the fundamentals of your website you want to figure out how the core of website is going to work.

  • How to you send out mass emails?

  • How do you want to take payments?

  • How do allow people to fill out a simple form on your website?

  • How do people schedule events with you?

  • Who do you use your domain with for your website platform?

  • Is your website mobile optimized and friendly?

  • Do you have a 5 year business plan for how you plan to grow your business?

These are all things you want to think about for your business while building your online presence. These are all things that I have answers for to help you navigate them.

Mass Email Lists/ Newsletter Sending

Email lists are very valuable to you as a business owner. Sending out emails from your personal gmail is the worst idea ever. When using your personal email for sending 100+ recipients and email is a great way to have Google mark your personal email for spam which will then make it harder for you to send normal legitimate emails to your friends or family.

So when we want to send mass emails there's many solutions to you as a business owner. There's many different budgets from free that Mailchimp has all the way scaling with your email list contact storage and how many emails you are sending out to all your contacts. Mailchimp is one of those services thats great to start with when first building your mailing list for your business. From there later on you may later want to have email automation chains that send auto send themselves everyday then Active campaigns can help with that.

Also too a good amount of these email services all have very similar email lego block designer. Mail chimp isn't all that bad and is a great place to start for most people who want to get into designing emails for their business effectively.

Sections/ Content Blocks

Design your website effectively. How do you achieve this task? well this is something that I do all the time achieving this isn't hard. Think of your website and break it down into chunks than are a flowing puzzle piece.

You can do this on stick notes and boil down to create a small sections that then tell that full picture. Some of this has been taught in school to some degree but you want to have a way in which you are explaining what you do from top to bottom. I know of a great note taking mind mapping website called Milanote. It's not hard to setup at all but theres a formula to how to want to layout and setup your homepage.

One example that I know of that I spent a great deal of time perfecting that was an ecommerce site called No Choice. You start with a core thing that your business does - this can be a Banner Block/ Scrolling Gallery. Then next you can promote a single product or feature. Then can have next a whole mini gallery of features or benefits that sets you apart from your competitors. You can then next bring in a common question thats always a burning in people's minds that you people may not know that you offer. You can insert a video at this point or show more features. Then afterwards you can close it with a photo gallery, bring in reviews, bring in a newsletter at the very end. There's a flow for everything and how you present yourself.

if you don't know where to start always work on building up a collection of inspiration that may help you later with achieving what it is that you want to execute for your business.

If your not looking for an ecommerce vibe and maybe your a consultant and your an individual who is offering a service. Then I would say that what Tulayou brings to how Laura presents herself on her site is a great starting point for most people. You may not be a chef but if your a person who is offering a consultant type service then you can boil down the basic elements of any website there is. Spark is a great example I use it for managing my emails. The way in which they market there email client for the different things there offering for there free software is a prime example I am trying to explain how you can market yourself for your website. I think it's important to have a website thats focused on how it is representing its information clearly and not confused or being misguided in its messaging to is user. There might be other better examples out there for marketing but its a hunt for you to go out there and find them and use them a basic simple building blocks that can help you with explaining what it is that your doing.

There's many ideas you can even extract when you might see a new product thats released. Apple is a huge example thats brilliantly executed, yes Apple has a whole think tank that knows how to market there products but mastering this simple way to convey information is greatly important. New Phones, Motherboards for crazy $1,500+ Desktop pcs have websites that are hugely designed to tell you everything there is for you to know and have you at the edge of your seat that by the end of you scrolling to the bottom of there website your like wow and then go and buy it.
