Plugin Bridge is a free plugin that allows you to bridge the in compatibility of older plugins from R19 and the past releases. Into new the Cinema 4D R20 - R25.
How to use
The Cinema 4D Bridge zip contains the bridge plugin files for each Cinema 4D, please copy these *into* the folder of the plugin you wish to use.
The Bridge can be installed into a parent folder and will search all subfolders for pre-R20 plugins.
** Cinema 4D R23, S24 and R25 have major changes and some API functions are no longer available. Any plugins using these removed functions will not work.
Usefulness?
Plugin Bridge isn't bullet proof at all. Its not going to work with all plugins.
There have been some plugins that are gone to lost of time and developers to remake there plugins. As great as "Plugin Bridge" is there are still issues to the flexibility and functions that this bridge is able to provide. Think about a piece of gum and using it to fix a leaking pipe... something here it's going to make it so that it might let you have back 3 out of your 10 plugins that you had before R20 destroyed everything.
I would still recommend having Cinema 4D R19 installed on your computer for your true ability for using old plugins that you still want to use.
Forced on the bleeding edge
Sometimes when it comes down to using a tool that you have paid for you should be able to use it for as long as you like. You spend $1,000+ on a piece of software all for it to not to work when the company who created it and sold it to you promised it would work ever.
When R20 was released this was the up rising of killing every single past created plugin, killing ".lib4d" library files and much more. The whole plugin engine core was being completely changed.
This always with most softwares and products isn't for the good of innovation at all. It always boils down to greed or monopolization. In factor of having to create work for the original developers that made the plugins. Now there about 3 plugin engine cores to develop for and it's a complete mess. its 4 plugin cores if you count R12 - R19 but in this context R20 and above is what matters currently.

When it comes to getting something for free I am not always into having to give someone an email to just download it. If something is truly free then there shouldn't be a barrier to download it.
